Just a half hour train journey to the north east of Bratislava, Trnava isn't a big place. It's certainly got a lot of churches for its size though, and a preserved synagogue (now serving as a home to small art exhibitions) to boot. It's not one of Slovakia's must-see tourist destination, which makes it a good escape from the crowds. And while there's not loads to do, I spent a very happy afternoon there, take in the lovely architecture, then sitting in the sun and enjoying some nice food and a couple of beers while people watching.
